This policy covers the LogCase iPhone app. It does not cover purchases made on brachistalog.com, which are covered by our store policy.
LogCase is made by BrachistaLog Holdings Inc.
The short version
- Your photos stay on your phone. We do not have them and cannot see them.
- We hold your account details, which case you own, and when you registered it.
- We use Firebase, by Google, to do that.
- If a cast fails, you can choose to send us a record of it. It never includes your photo.
- You can delete your account and case registration from inside the app.
Photos you cast
When you choose a photo and send it to your LogCase, the picture is prepared on your iPhone and written to the case over NFC. It does not pass through our servers at any point.
Favourites
Saving a favourite writes the image to storage inside the app on your iPhone. We do not receive a copy and cannot see it.
If you turn on Back up to iCloud in Account, a copy is also placed in your own iCloud, in the private area Apple reserves for you. We can see how many records exist and how much space they take. We cannot open them, and neither can Apple's staff on our behalf. It is off unless you turn it on, and turning it off offers to delete the copies.
Favourites saved before September 2026
Earlier versions of the app uploaded favourites to our servers so that you could have access to your favourites from a different phone device. The first time you open the updated app, those images are copied to your iPhone and deleted from our servers. Nothing is kept behind.
What we do hold
Your account
- Email address: To identify your account and contact you about your order or warranty
- Name: Shown in the app; you choose it
- Profile photo: Only if you set one
- Sign-in method: Email and password, Apple, or Google
- Date you joined: Shown in the app, and used for warranty
- Marketing preference: Whether you agreed to hear from us
You can use the app without an account, as a guest. A guest account holds no email or name.
Your LogCase
- Device serial: Read from the case itself. Identifies which case is yours
- Owner: Which account the case belongs to
- Registration date: When it was first registered, which starts the warranty
Diagnostics
If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends us a report so we can fix it: the model of iPhone, the iOS version, and where in the code it failed. It is tied to your account ID so we can tell whether one person hit the same crash repeatedly. It contains none of your photos.
The app also includes Firebase Analytics, which records general usage such as which screens are opened and how often the app is launched. This is used to understand how the app is used, not to identify you personally.
Cast reports
If a cast to a LogCase Full Colour fails, the app offers to send a record of that cast to our development team. It is sent only if you choose to, each time. Nothing is sent when a cast succeeds.
A cast report contains no image. It holds the case's serial number, your iPhone model, the iOS version, the app version, and technical figures from the transfer, such as timings, retry counts and status codes. It is linked to your account.
We use cast reports only to find out why casts fail and to fix them. They are stored in Firebase and read only by our team.
If you tick "contact me", we reply to your account's email address within 1 to 3 business days. If you leave it unticked, we do not contact you.
Newsletter
If you agree to marketing in the app, we add your email address to our newsletter list. Your marketing preference is the record of that consent.
Since 31 October 2026, our newsletter has been sent by our own system. The list, your consent and any opt-out are kept in our own database on Google Cloud, in Bangkok, Thailand.
Emails are delivered by Resend (resend.com), a company in the USA, from [email protected], using Resend's servers in Tokyo. Resend receives only what each email needs: your address, the email itself, and whether it was delivered or bounced. It keeps no list of its own.
Every email has an unsubscribe link, and supports one-click unsubscribe in mail apps that offer it. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record of it so that we do not email you again.
Who else is involved
- Google (Firebase): Account details, case registration, crash reports, usage statistics, and cast reports you choose to send
- Apple (iCloud): Your favourites, encrypted in your own private area, only if you turn backup on
- Google (Cloud): Our newsletter list, your consent and opt-outs, only if you agreed to marketing
- Resend: Your email address and each newsletter sent to you, only if you agreed to marketing
We do not sell your information. We do not share it for advertising.
Permissions the app asks for
- NFC: To read your case and write images to it. This is the core of the product, and NFC works only when you hold the phone against the case.
- Photo library: To let you pick a photo to cast. The app reads only the picture you choose. It does not browse your library or upload anything.
Firebase stores data on Google's servers, which may be outside your country. By using the app you agree to that transfer. Google's security measures are described in their own documentation. The app's Firebase data, including cast reports, is held in Singapore.
Our newsletter list is held on Google Cloud in Bangkok, Thailand. Newsletter emails pass through Resend's servers in Tokyo, Japan.
iCloud backups of your favourites are held by Apple, in the region Apple assigns to your Apple Account.
How long we keep things
Your account details and case registration are kept while your account exists. Delete your account and they are deleted with it, including any profile photo.
Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days.
Favourites on your iPhone are yours. They are removed when you delete them, or when you delete the app.
What you can do
- See what we hold: Most of it is visible in the app, on the Account screen. For anything else, write to us.
- Correct it: Your name and email can be changed in the app.
- Delete it: Account, then Delete Account. This removes your account details, your case registration and your profile photo from our servers. Favourites on your iPhone are not affected, because we never had them.
- Stop marketing email: Turn it off in the app or use the unsubscribe link in any message.
- Ask us anything: Contact details are below. If you are in a country with data protection law, such as Japan under the APPI or the EU under the GDPR, the rights that law gives you apply, and this section does not limit them.
Children
LogCase is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly hold their information. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.
Photographs of children very often end up on a phone case, and that is part of why favourites are kept on your own device rather than ours.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will ask you to read and accept the new version. Small corrections will appear here with a new date.
